These are 062's with center bolt Valve covers, they dont have a d port?

That's good, it must be the aluminum vortec heads that have the D port.

Just curious are these the Vortec Bow-Tie heads?  If you moved the tape further to the left in the pic would a cast-in Bow-Tie be showing?

No These are the early Vortec and don't have the outer edge valve cover bolts (center bolt style) or pre-Bow-tie.
They were supposed to flow great! but lacked the ability for high lift cams and dual valve springs with out machine work.
That work has been done and they already have the dual springs and fresh valve job.

I have some good news!! A miracle has occurred! KEP has finally shipped the adapter kit to mate the SBC to the Audi trans!  

 

Pook - its coming directly to Paul's.

 

Let the build begin!!! YAHOO!
